Vietnam – China Border Demarcation Markers

Tuesday, January 1, 2008 By kevmille

First of all, “Happy New Year 2008” Everyone.  Chuc mung nam moi.

Vietnam is off to a good start for 2008.  VietnamNet Bridge just published this article about the completion of the border demarcation and landmark plantings along the border. This is a great step in ensuring friendship and peace between the two countries.  It also will help promote greater trade between the two countries.

This article interested me since, coincidentally, I read up on the Sino-Vietnamese War last night.  It is amazing how close the two countries have gotten together since the brief one month war in 1979.

I wish Vietnam the best and I hope it continues it’s great effort to promote itself to the global community in 2008.

You should read up on the Spratly and Paracel Islands dispute as well.

No mention about it in the English news but I happened to read a little about it before I posted this entry:

It seems that the Vietnamese government is keeping a close eye on comments in regards to these islands.
