One of my biggest complaints at my gym are people taking the weights I am using. Thus usually happens when there are new members and trainers. Now I lean the weights on the press bench so people get an idea that I am using them. It does not work all the time. One of the thing that really irritates me at ANY gym are those guys who load up the bars or machines with weights, do one or two reps, AND then walk away from the exercise without taking the weights off.
