Last week I had the chance to visit Evo Strength & Fitness, the newest powerlifting gym in Saigon that can also accommodate Olympic-style weightlifting. The gym is located in District 7 at the Luxcity Apartments. Daniel Frazier, the owner of Evo Strength & Fitness, is an avid powerlifter who decided that he wanted to have his own gym. He gets to live his dream in Saigon.
Entering Evo Strength & Fitness, you will immediately two power racks, the main stay for many powerlifting gyms. Each power rack is equipped with catch straps that can handle heavy weights. They are definitely eye catchers and definitely the first of their kind in Vietnam.
Evo Fitness has other accessory equipment has well for strength training.
Lockers are available with keys for your valuables and other items.
Since it is located at an apartment complex, Evo Fitness has treadmills and other machines for tenants interesting in weight training.
There is room for weightlifters such as myself. I was able to do some light weight Snatches during my first visit. The floor is padded so weight drops are allowed. You can also see that Evo Fitness has plenty of plates for your workouts. Powerlifters will be happy.
Rogues bars are the norm here and are taken care of by Daniel daily.
Another view of the power racks area.
The entrance is quite easy to find. Just go to the end of the pool. Evo Fitness is located to the left.
Overall, a great gym. This is the type of gym I am used to working out at in the US. For Expat Powerlifters, this will probably be your main gym. It is also air conditioned.
Parking is easy, just park in building C located inside the gate.
