Mr. Ut’s House is Finished :-)

Sunday, November 25, 2007 By kevmille

I just noticed that Mr. Ut and his family have moved into their newly built home. It is quite nice. My old roommate, Sally, would be surprised.  Please note, Mr. Ut sells 21 litter water for the surrounding areas.  He got most of his money for this house from the Ward People’s Committee.

(Mr. Ut has a great view of, umm, his neighbor’s house)

(I really like the design of his house, bedrooms are in back away from the alleyway noise)

There is still more construction near the alleyway, though.  In the below picture, you will see the crane which is used to help construction of a filtering system for the canal.  It is quite loud and I can feel the vibrations of this crane shaking my house (I thought it was an earthquake).

(The crane erected near my house a week ago making a lot of noise in the morning)

(They are nearly done, this house is the main culprit for the alleyway dust now)

Within a couple months, the construction noise in my alleyway will be replaced by motorbike and car noise.  Yeah, I think 🙂

The blue house is very interesting — I am going to have to come over and have a closer look. While modernist, this house is breaking new design ground for Saigon.

Okay, when they repave the road and all the construction is done, you will be able to see the designs of all the newly rebuilt houses in my alleyway 🙂
