Decided to post some pictures of the mini hotel where I hang out for some coffee sometimes. The Tram Anh Hotel is really nice with a very friendly staff. Located in the Pham Ngu Lao area, the room rates are $8 US per person/night and $12-$15 US for two person per night. Yes, you can get a discount if you stay longer. Please tell the receptionist that Kevin sent you 🙂

Hi Kevin,
Nice pictures you’ve posted here…You probably don’t know me, but I was at this hotel Christmas 2005 to visit my parents, the owner of the place. Well, it’s for sure that my parents like Mr. Quan’s travel business very much. Have fun in Vietnam, my favorite country in the whole wide world!!!!

Ah, you must be Anh’s older sister 🙂 I actually like visiting your parent’s hotel to relax. Good luck with your classes and education and see you in the future.

I stayed here for a week a couple of years ago…on your good advice. I have been coming to Vietnam annually with Vets With a Mission and working with medical teams. We usually spend a night or two in Saigon to recoup from the long flight…and stay at the Renaissance Riverside which is way to upscale for me. So…on your advice I took a week after the team left and stayed at the Tram Anh….and explored lots of places in Saigon I had missed before. Saw every museum and gallery and hung out in Pham Ngu Lao. It was a thoroughly enjoyable week, as I had only before “passed through” and never got south of I-Corps during the war. Thanks for the advice….sorry for the late comment….just now getting ready for another mission…two teams this summer….first out of Hue and second out of Danang. Maybe we can connect next weekend (May 32-June 1) before we leave Saigon for Hue. Semper Fi….Steve Scott 2/7 USMC 66-67.
