A long ways from the troubles of Bishkek and Osh, Talas is separated from most of the country by a highway that ran through Kazakhstan. Most people had to go by nearby Taraz, Kazakhstan, for their main shopping. Talas is one of the poorest cities in Kyrgyzstan but it has many beauties as well such as this Kyrgyz-style home.
