Again I am surprised by how poor the air is in both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. I expected it to be better in the rainy season.  Consistently Shanghai's air has been cleaner than the air in Ho Chi Minh City. What happens when you cook curry

This one surprised me. I was cooking some Japanese curry and watched the AQI rise quickly in my livingroom and bedroom. I forgot to close the sliding door between the kitchen and livingroom. The cooking gas was probably the real culprit. I saw readings as high as 205 and 156 in two different restaurants when I was in Saigon last week.
