Karakol, Kyrgyzstan, was located at the far end of the famous Lake Issyk Kul. A large community of Dungans, Chinese Muslims, resided in Karakol. I remember the Dungans very well, they had the best Chinese restaurants in town. Outside of Naryn with the Ala Too mountains in the distance was this man riding his horse. I was standing with an American teacher, my assistant and my Russian driver when this man rode by. At Bashy, horse's head in the Kyrgyz language, is one of the most beautiful places in the world with the Tien Shan Mountains as the background. Driving away from Naryn, we passed two boys riding a donkey. The boy in front looked like he was carrying a heavy bag full of potatoes, possibly rice. I cannot remember today. Naryn Mosque and tour guides
During my trip to Naryn with ACCELS, I had an opportunity to visit the local mosque. Three of the Kyrgyz boys below gave me a tour of the mosque including going up the minaret.
