The last couple of days, a tropical depression has been lying off the cost of Vietnam bringing with it heavy rain and cooler temperatures here in Saigon. I can say I have been cold the last 3 nights forcing myself to actually wear a jacket while on my motorbike at night.
Unfortunately for me, the heavy rain with the construction next to my house has meant more water damage. There is really nothing I or my landlord can do now but wait for my neighbors to finish constructing their house. Essentially what happened is that when my neighbor demolished his house, it left one part of my house exposed to the elements (the area usually covered by the wall of the other house). Hence, when it rains hard enough, the water gets through the cracks in the brick and cement making its way into my house. How can a person prevent this, you can’t. What has my landlord done to alleviate the problem? As usual, nothing…

(Water seeps through the wall and makes it unto the floor)
(Dark area is new water damage)
(Still waiting for neighbors to repair 5 holes)

Very unlucky you are. Hope your house will be fixed soon for Rainny season is still long.
