For the last month, I have started to follow a more strict halal diet. I am up to about 90% these days, I had a cheeseburger today, but hope to hit 100% by the end of the year. Since I started GoHalalPlanet.com, I was surprised at the amount of halal restaurants in Saigon alone. One of my best finds was Pho Muslim which serves halal pho in the morning (6:00 AM – 1:00 AM) and halal bun bo hue (4:00 PM – 10:00 PM) in the evening. Most Expats and travelers will definitely not know about this, the only reason I knew about was from the local Muslim and Expat Muslim community.
For about 40,000 VND ($2 US), you can get a bowl of halal pho and a drink. I have tried both the halal pho and bun bo hue. They are both delicious. Definitely worth a visit for Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

I hear there are many Halal eateries inside Phu Nhuan market. My wife’s friend said there’s a large pop of muslims in this neighborhood.

I am not sure about the bigger Phu Nguyen market but the smaller one on Nguyen Van Troi has halal food. I will check it out. Thanks.
