There is a new halal restaurant in Saigon, Vietnam, now catering to the halal travelers community, particularly those from Malaysia. It is called Kampung Pandan and is located near the Ben Thanh Market in District 1 of Saigon. It is definitely a favorite of Malay tourists shopping near the Ben Thanh Market.
Kampung Pandan is certified halal and offers both halal Malaysian and Vietnamese cuisines. They offer up to 200 halal Asian cuisines. I am a nasi goreng fan so I had that, it was a great dish. The drinks were great as well, especially the watermelon juice which I tend to drink when I visit this restaurant. Kampung Pandan is the only halal restaurant in Vietnam that serves the Fresh Roti Canai made by their Malaysian chef
Kampung Pandan is run by the former owner of Banana Leaf, a halal restaurant she moved and renamed into Kampung Pandan. She is very nice, one of the most respected owners of halal restaurants in Saigon. She used to manage the once famous Halal Saigon restaurant before moving on to Banana Leaf.
