This surprised me a bit today, Indochine – A People’s War in Colour, was not aired in Vietnam by the Discovery Channel today. It is not anti–Vietnam but does put the US, Japanese and French in a negative light.
It is very interesting, you will see video of Saigon and Vietnam pre-1940s in color. You also see a Ho Chi Minh and General Giap throughout the documentary. It gives a perspective of the Vietnam War that you really do not get to see in the West.
Part 1 focuses on the Vietnamese struggle for independence from the French. Part 2 on the war against the Americans.
