Got my temporary resident card!!! :-)

Awesome!  It just took one week to process my application for my temporary resident permit here in Vietnam.  I picked up temporary resident ID card today which is valid until May 30, 2013.  I never thought I would get to this day.

It is all done!!!

Now I will try to get my Vietnamese driver’s license for both a car and motorbike.  That is supposed to be much easier.  I will start that process myself on Monday.

    I heard that Immigration of Vietnam doesn’t grant Temporary Residence Card for those foreign workers who work for “Sole Proprietorship” company and only issues for foreign worker working for ” Corporation”. This issue made my application for residence card’s amendment application halted since I had changed my passport to a new one.

    I don’t know if this rule is applied or not since my company doesn’t help me to apply for me. I don’t have any choice but to ask the service of an agency.

    Sir, my question is, when you applied for TRC, does the immigration inquire you about what company do you belong with?

    • Hi Karstin,

      That sounds strange. Did they show you the regulation for this? I do not have it on me right now. Sorry 🙁

      Your company has to help you with the work permit and temporary resident card. Your company’s name will be listed on the temp. resident card. When you change company’s you will have to have to make the changes on your temp. resident card with immigration.

      Just be careful with service agents. Your HR Manager should be the one helping you here.

    As of now I ask another agency’s service to apply for me.They told me that there is no problem in my case.I think the first agency who gave me visa service just wanted to take advantage against me because he knows I have big salary…monkey business you know. The new agency that I hired has reasonable price and excellent service.

    Well, I do not ask the help of HR Dept of my company…from the time that they gave my working permit, they immediately told me that they will not apply TRC for me…So even you appeal,its just like talking against the wall…He he he he!
