The Amerasian Foundation brought me to Vietnam back in May, 2004. I had high hopes when I first came to Vietnam but faced various difficult ethical issues that took a long time to resolve. Nonprofit organizations can be some of the most corrupt and unethical entities in the world. I nearly walked away from my work with Amerasians. Luckily, we a large support group overseas, I kept the Amerasian Foundation alive as an online entity. I referred the majority of Amerasian cases and inquiries to fellow organizations who are know the Amerasian Foundation’s partner organizations. There is even slight hope that the Amerasian Foundation will be re-incorporated in the US.
