A Rainy Day
Tropical Storm Durian is currently making its way across southern Vietnam and the Mekong Delta. The first effects to the tropical storm was felt here in Saigon early this morning. At about 7:10 AM, I headed out to pick up my friend in the Phu Nhuan District on my way to work. When I left my house, it was just sprinkling. By the time I picked up my friend, it had turned into a huge downpour. Needless to say, we both got soaked on our way to Capital Place Building.
Unfortunately for me, my student had to cancel her lesson to type out an urgent report. At about 8:30 AM, I headed to the other office to meet my next student. As I headed to my motorbike, the rain had stopped. When I got unto Thai Van Lung street, it began to rain again. When I arrived to the Mekong Securities office, the rain had stopped. Go figure.
I met my student and we headed to a cafe for the lesson. After about 1 and a half hours, we headed back to the office. I got back unto my motorbike and it rained AGAIN. I got some gas and headed to Pham Ngu Lao to meet another friend. Two hours later, I headed out and it rained YET again. 🙂
I am actually enjoying the rain now. It has been hot and humid the last couple of weeks. After this tropical storm crosses Vietnam, the dry season should start (Saigon is affected by two seasons per year). The weather will cool off significantly in January. I can’t wait.
Kubuntu Linux
I apologize for not updating SaigonNezumi.com in a timely manner. I am still in the process up configuring my IBM/Lenovo T60 Thinkpad to dual boot both Windows and Kubuntu Linux. I prefer to do all of my updating, blog configurations and design, and image uploads through Linux.
