They are for about $1000-1200 US.
Where did she have it unlocked?
Just go to any mobile phone shop and ask, they will know.

a relative bought it in the u.s. for $300? how did they get around the at & t contract? i really want to get one to use in vietnam, but have not seen any and would prefer not to pay $1000. will be in the states for the summer.
