My last night in my house

Wednesday, April 7, 2010 By kevmille

Tonight will be my last night in my house at 489A/23A/210 Huynh Van Banh, in the Phu Nhuan District.  I was supposed to leave today but I decided to stay an extra day longer.

My housemate already moved to District 1 this morning so Smokey and I will be by ourselves tonight.  It has been over two years since I last stayed in my house alone.  This will be the last time, I feel, in my life where I will be able to stay alone in a house by myself.

I felt it would be difficult to leave but with the recent wear and tear of the house, I am looking forward to it.  For the last three weeks, I had to use to toilet upstairs and take a shower downstairs since the water valve broke in my room.  I know, why not use the toilets downstairs but both of them were broken too.  They all became corroded.

My house is a mess now and I will start to pack tonight.

I am looking forward to my last night in my house.  Yeah, I think I will miss it too.  There are a lot of memories here.

I will be faced with the same thing when we put everything in a container to ship to Vietnam. We’ve lived in our current house for over ten years. Good luck in your new place and please take some pics so we can see what it looks like.

The rents are around $550-800 US per month now not including utilities.

I rented a room. It will be much cheaper since utilities are included. I like it here.

Do not get a house if you can handle living in one or two rooms. It is a pain to clean these days.

@mike: As far as I know, you will have to have a work permit and temporary resident card before you can ship anything to Vietnam. That is what I heard.

My last night was short, only 3 hours of sleep since I was packing. I actually got a lot of sleep while waiting for the movers though.

Update in about 2 hours. 🙂
