This statement explains how SAIGONNEZUMI (saigonnezumi.com) approaches accessibility. It was last updated on October 24, 2026.

Our goal

SaigonNezumi will strive to meet WCAG 2.2 level AAA whenever possible. That is the highest level of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, and it includes the strictest colour contrast, text spacing, target size and plain-language criteria. The site's own pages, menus, forms and colours are built and tested against it.

The W3C notes that level AAA cannot be met for every kind of content. This site does not claim full conformance to level AAA today. Where a criterion cannot be met, it is named below rather than hidden.

Exceptions: videos

Many posts embed videos from YouTube and Vimeo. Those videos play in the provider's own player, which this site does not control. Captions, audio description, sign language and transcripts belong to whoever published the video, and some of the player's own controls cannot be changed.

  • When a page has a video that cannot meet a criterion for this reason, the page carries an Accessibility note that says so.
  • The parts this site controls are built for keyboards and screen readers: each video has a named Load video button, focus moves to the player when it loads, and every video also has a plain Watch on link that opens it on the provider's own site.
  • If a video is not accessible to you, please contact me and I will do my best to help, for example with a description or a transcript of a video I made.

The Cloudflare Turnstile spam check on the contact page is also third-party content. The contact form explains it, and you can write to me by email if it does not work for you.

How the site is tested

Accessibility audits are run with Playwright in a real browser, using two independent rule engines on every audit:

The audits cover representative pages in several conditions: a first visit with the cookie notice showing, after answering it, a phone-width screen, a 320 pixel wide screen (reflow), and the dark theme. Colour pairs are also checked against the AAA contrast limits (7:1 for text).

Automated tools find only part of the problems, so a clean result is never treated as proof of conformance.

Further testing planned

These tests will be conducted, and this statement will be updated with what they find:

  • Accessibility Insights tests, including its guided manual checks.
  • Screen reader tests, for example VoiceOver on macOS and iOS and NVDA on Windows, as well as other screen readers.

Older posts

The site holds posts from 2004 to 2021 that were moved from an earlier website. Some older images have missing or brief descriptions, and some older text uses idioms, abbreviations or a reading level above lower secondary education. These are being worked through, starting with the most visited pages.

Built on Wagtail

This site runs on the Wagtail content management system. Wagtail documents the accessibility features it provides for the people who edit a site and for the pages it produces: Wagtail's accessibility features. The site's editing screens are Wagtail's own and are not covered by the audits described above.

Sources for the guidelines

Besides WCAG 2.2 itself, this site follows accessibility guidance from a11yequitas.org and neotoi.ai. The founder of SaigonNezumi is also the founder of both.

Tell me about a problem
