iPhone Freedom in Vietnam

Sunday, September 16, 2007 By kevmille

Well, if you are iPhoneVietnam Mobile Professional, this is definitely a sad day indeed. The iPhone Dev Team just released iUnlock which allows anyone to unlock their iPhones with a graphics user interface easily from their computer for FREE. In Saigon, that means you no longer have to pay $100 to unlock your iPhone at iPhoneVietnam. And yes, you can use your Viettel, Mobifone, and Vinaphone sim cards.

iUnlock for the iPhone

I can’t wait to get my next iPhone (last Sunday I gave my 4GB iPhone to another friend).

You can use the iPhone as a phone in Viet Nam, but can you get any data services?

If it is unlocked, you should be able to use GPRS and MMS. The guy at iPhoneVietnam told me that all the functions can be used. They will even show you how to set up Skype.

For me, I just want the wifi features which technically means you can surf the web and make VoiP calls anywhere that has free wifi 🙂

With iTunes, I do not know. I really never used iTunes preferring to use my own mp3s instead.
