Birthday Party with SaigonTech Students

Sunday, July 8, 2007 By kevmille

Yesterday afternoon I joined my SaigonTech students to celebrate 4 July birthdays. I met them all at about 4:30 PM at Lang Nuong Nam Bo in District 10. We ate a lot, drank too much, had loads of fun. Henry, the class monitor for one of my classes, was the organizer.

We went to a karaoke club right after we finished eating. They TRIED to get me to sing a song but I had a throat problem so I could not sing. Really!!! While I was there, I learned that Huyen’s father was a pilot for Vietnam Airlines which I thought was interesting. Huyen is a friend of my student, Alice, from Huflit who seems to have a good command of the English language.

(Hey Nancy)

At about 7 PM I had to leave to meet with my friend from Games Corner – Vietnam. A couple hours of tech geek talk at Terrace Cafe with Xavier and Arno, both half-French/half-Vietnamese friends of mine. At 9:30 PM, Arno and I went to MGM Cafe to meet with my friends and former colleagues Tuoi, Giang and Quang. Some of us had Chinese food afterwards. I finally got home around 2:00 AM.

Wow a day!!! Got to love Vietnam sometimes…
