How to register for Covid-19 Vaccine in Ho Chi Minh City

Expat Life Aug 6, 2021

Update (2021/8/11): The US Consulate sent an email and recommended Americans register at the HCMC government portal: https://tiemchungcovid19.gov.vn/portal/register-person. After 5 days, I never got an appointment with register form going around Facebook. The US Consulate provide a guide to help you register if you do not speak Vietnamese -> https://vn.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/covid-19-information/vietnamese-vaccination-portal-guide/.

A link is being passed around the the Expatriate community across Saigon today. There was a lot of misinformation spread on various Facebook communities in regards to foreigners getting vaccinated in HCMC. Several Expats said they were turned away but according to the local media, foreigners are included in the free vaccination across Vietnam. One American journalist even Tweeted his vaccination photo nearly a month ago.

Seems the confusion involves registration for the vaccination. Those who use the following link to register are able to get appointments. Those who use the other official government app are having problems registering. You should register with the below link below:

I removed the link since I never got an appointment.

You have to choose the Ward you are at. I could fill out most of the form but had no idea what neighborhood I was in. Still, I already know where they are doing the vaccinations in my Ward. You should save this link as well until you get your appointment to make any changes.

I have no received an appointment yet but will update this post if I get one.
