While walking in the city center of Bishkek in 1999, I was able to get some good shots of the Kyrgyz Honor Guard that stood in front of Lenin’s statue. This statue has since been replaced by Manas, a popular poet and hero in Kyrgyzstan.

Beautiful Bishkek, Kyrgzyzstan. A lovely city. I lived in Bishkek from August, 1999, to December, 1999. I lived with a well known actor and his family who once served as a host family for a Peace Corps volunteer. From their apartment, they had a nice view of the Kyrgyz Ala-too mountains.
