3 Thang 2 Traffic Jam

this is nothing. If you want to see what VN will look like, check out Jakarta. Utter madness. Takes about 1 hour to travel 1KM. VN will be twice as bad due to the narrow roads.

Everything in Vietnam is getting better it seems, except for the consistently deteriorating traffic situation. Between the widespread anarchy and the ever increasing numbers of vehicles extant, there is little hope for any improvement, even incremental.

I am fortunate to be able to walk everywhere I want to go, usually. If I had to drive (and park) a motorbike around or take taxis I don’t believe that I would stay here in HCMC for very long.

It seems like most of the new VNese vehicles are in HCMC. The rural communities are still bucolic and the streets are still not as crowded.

  • You live in Q. 1 which is nice for walking 🙂 Where I live, forget it. It would be nice to walk from Phu Nhuan District to Q. 1 sometimes. Great exercise but the motorbikes…
