Just Another Day in Saigon

I for one fervently support the traffic police in Saigon. Well, as long as they do not pull me over for, say, not having a valid motorbike license, or, hmm, speeding…

When I see Co^ng An, I think of……………bribery. That is the major source of income for the profession.

  • They do not stop Westerners much anymore…

Thank God. I’ve never been pulled over by a cop 🙂 hic, poor you, man.

  • I was just pulled over once. Paid a 40,000 VND fine for riding in the left lane.

Oh. Normally, they’ll charge Vietnamese around 100,000 VND. You got a bargain honey :)).

  • They accidentally pulled me over. They thought I was Viet Kieu. When they saw me they were embarrassed, laughed at me, gave me a paper to sign and I left. I was told by a friend that I could have just left without paying.

Oddly enough, they were not the normal police for that area. The normal guys recognize me 😉
