FV Hospital Dental Clinic

Today I visited the dental clinic at FV Hospital in District 7, Phu My Hung.  The dentist I saw was Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Chieu.  Wow, she was an amazing dentist.  I have a deep fear of dentists but Dr. Chieu turned out to be one of the best dentists I have ever visited in my life.  I came to the dental clinic at FV Hospital since my gums around one of my upper left molars were inflamed.  She took a look at my teeth, immediately diagnosed the problem and set to resolve it.  It seems that my two years absence from the dental clinic allowed a lot of tartar to develop around my teeth.  Yes, I am not a regular flosser.  Also, I tend to use toothpicks to clean my teeth and unfortunately for me one of the toothpicks stuffed food into a cavity in my left molar.

In about one hour, Dr. Chieu cleaned all my teeth and filled my cavity.  She was very gentle, comparable to my old dentist in the US, Dr. Janette Caroll.   Before she even started to clean my teeth, Dr. Chieu told me that if I felt any pain, I should raise my hand.  I immediately raised both hands and she laughed saying she had not started yet.

Dr. Chieu has a good reputation, Clifton mentioned he liked her.  I will continue to come back to Dr. Chieu for my 6 month check ups.  Every six months she will wonder why I do not floss. :-)

If you are looking for a good dentist in Saigon, I highly recommend Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Chieu.  I am not scared of the dentist anymore especially since I thought I was going to get a root canal. :-)

Nice write-up! How about cost? I should really see a dentist more often myself.

I think it was about $100, I forgot to check. :-)

It is worth it. I will go every 6 months now. I do not want a root canal, ever!!!

Yeah, probably $100 well spent. I will do the same, thanks for the idea.

I know some Expats love the $10 clean ups but for me, service is much better. I got to get my teeth whitened before heading back to the US for holidays as well.
